FEES, MEMBERSHIP & PAYMENT POLICY
Effective from September 2026
1. About this Policy
Club Taekwondo Escorpio London is a small independent Taekwondo academy based in Tooting.
This policy explains our membership, training fees, payment arrangements, temporary absences and the different
conditions applying to our Studio and Saint Anselm's programmes.
Our aim is to keep our arrangements clear, consistent and fair to all students and families, while allowing the club
to manage regular commitments such as venue hire, insurance, coaching, equipment and administration.
2. Studio — Monthly Training Fees
Studio students pay their training fees in advance. Monthly fees are based on the student's registered training
programme.

The monthly fee relates to the student's registered place and training programme, rather than individual
attendance. Therefore, missing individual classes does not normally result in a reduction, credit or refund.
3. New Student Membership
New students joining the Studio pay a one-off £55 membership fee. The membership fee is separate from the
monthly training fee.
Free Uniform Offer
Eligible new students under 16 years old receive one free basic Taekwondo uniform when they first join Club
Taekwondo Escorpio London.
• The free uniform is provided only once.
• It does not apply to a second registration, a transfer between Club Escorpio programmes, returning students, or
students who have previously received the free uniform offer.
• Students aged 16 or over are not eligible unless a separate promotion specifically states otherwise.
4. Early Bird Payment
The Studio Early Bird payment period runs from the 24th to the 28th of each month for the following month's training.
Payments received after the Early Bird period may be subject to a £15 late payment fee. Where fees remain unpaid,
the club may temporarily suspend participation until the account is brought up to date.
5. Maintenance Fee — Studio Only

The £20 Maintenance Fee applies only to students registered on the Studio programme. It is a temporary
place-maintenance option offered by the club; it is not an automatic right to suspend or reduce monthly fees.
Conditions
• Available only to Studio students.
• Does not apply to Saint Anselm's students.
• Must be requested in advance.
• The request must be received before the 24th of the previous month.
• Requests made after this deadline will not normally be applied retrospectively.
• Simply not attending classes does not automatically convert the monthly fee into a Maintenance Fee.
• The Maintenance Fee is £20 per month.
• It can be used for a maximum of two consecutive months.
• It may be requested no more than twice during each academic year.
• The two uses do not have to be consecutive, but the maximum remains two Maintenance Fee periods per academic
year.
• The Maintenance Fee does not provide training during the period covered.
• A student who does not request the Maintenance Fee within the required deadline remains subject to the normal
monthly fee.
Example: If a student wants to use the Maintenance Fee for October, the request must be submitted before 24
September.
6. Illness, Injury and Unplanned Absence
We understand that students may occasionally become ill or be unable to train. However, illness, injury or
non-attendance does not automatically create a right to a refund, credit or reduction of the monthly training
fee.
This is because Studio fees relate to the student's registered place within the programme and the club's ongoing costs,
rather than payment for each individual class attended.
Where an illness or other circumstance is known in advance and the family wishes to use the Maintenance Fee, the
normal Maintenance Fee conditions and deadlines apply.
Exceptional Circumstances
The club may consider exceptional circumstances on a case-by-case basis. Where appropriate, the club may request
reasonable supporting information before deciding whether an exceptional arrangement can be offered.
• Any exceptional arrangement is at the club's discretion.
• It does not create an automatic entitlement.
• It does not establish a precedent for future requests.
• It will be considered in accordance with applicable consumer rights.
7. Maintenance Fee and Holidays
The Maintenance Fee is particularly intended to help Studio families who know in advance that they will be away for a
period of time. A holiday or planned absence does not automatically suspend the monthly fee. Families wishing to use
the Maintenance Fee must request it within the required deadline.
8. Saint Anselm's After-School Taekwondo

The Taekwondo programme delivered at Saint Anselm's is exclusively for students attending the centre. It
operates separately from the Studio membership and monthly payment system.
Term Pricing
Saint Anselm's sessions are charged at £9 per session. The total fee is calculated according to the number of
Taekwondo sessions available during each school term:
Number of sessions × £9 = Term Fee
The full term fee is paid in advance. The exact term fee may vary from one term to another depending on the number
of scheduled sessions in the school's calendar.
Saint Anselm's Conditions
• The programme is available only to students attending Saint Anselm's.
• Saint Anselm's students do not pay the Studio monthly fee for these sessions.
• The Studio Maintenance Fee does not apply.
• Term fees are paid in advance.
• Missing individual sessions does not automatically result in a refund or reduction of the term fee.
• The programme operates according to the applicable school and club arrangements.
9. Moving from Saint Anselm's to the Studio
Students who have previously joined Club Taekwondo Escorpio London through the Saint Anselm's programme and
subsequently move to the Studio receive a reduced Studio registration fee.
Studio Registration Fee: £20
This reduced fee recognises that the student has already joined the Club Escorpio programme through Saint Anselm's.
Uniform
The free uniform offer applies only to a student's first time joining Club Taekwondo Escorpio London and only to
eligible students under 16. Therefore, students transferring from Saint Anselm's to the Studio do not receive a second
free uniform.
10. Cancellation and Leaving the Club
If a student wishes to stop attending the club, the parent/guardian or adult student should notify the club as soon as
possible.
Simply stopping attendance does not automatically cancel a registered place or alter fees that have already become
due.
Any cancellation or refund will be dealt with according to the applicable terms and the consumer's statutory rights.
The club will not seek to exclude or restrict any legal right that cannot lawfully be excluded.
11. Grading Fees
• Up to Orange/Green Belt — £55
• Green Belt and above — £65
Students must meet the club's training and grading requirements before being entered for grading.
Where a student has registered and paid for a grading but does not attend, the fee may not be transferable to a future
grading unless the club agrees otherwise. Exceptional circumstances will be considered fairly and on a case-by-case
basis.

12. Federation Licence
Where required, students must hold the appropriate federation licence. The current annual federation licence fee is
£55. The federation licence is separate from club membership, training fees and grading fees.

14. Competitions
Competition entry fees are separate from membership, training, grading and federation licence fees. Competition
registrations are subject to the relevant registration deadlines and requirements.
Once a competition registration has been submitted, refunds will be considered according to the competition
organiser's rules and any applicable consumer rights.
15. Communications
The club uses official communication channels, including the club WhatsApp group, to communicate important
information. This may include payment deadlines, timetable changes, holidays, grading dates, competitions, special
training, club events and policy updates.
Students and parents/guardians are responsible for checking official club communications. If information is unclear,
families should contact the club before the relevant deadline. Not reading a communication does not automatically
change an applicable deadline or fee.
16. Fair and Consistent Application
Club Taekwondo Escorpio London aims to apply its policies consistently to all students and families. The club
understands that genuine exceptional circumstances can occur and may consider them individually. However, an
exception granted in one individual circumstance does not automatically create an entitlement for another student or
future request.
The club will always apply its policies subject to applicable UK consumer law.
17. Statutory Rights
Nothing in this policy is intended to remove or restrict any statutory rights that students or consumers may have under
UK law. Where the law provides a right to a cancellation, refund, remedy or other protection, that right will continue to
apply.
18. Acceptance
By joining or continuing to attend Club Taekwondo Escorpio London, students and parents/guardians acknowledge
that they have access to this Fees, Membership & Payment Policy. They are responsible for understanding the
payment arrangements applicable to their programme and for contacting the club before relevant deadlines where
clarification is required.
